TENNIS INSTRUCTION

The tennis director is John Woods, who came to the Longboat Key Club & Resort in 1976. As a student, Woods played varsity tennis for Texas Tech University and then travelled with the prestigious Laver-Emerson camps for three years between stints at the prestigious Houston Racquet Club and the Country Club of Sarasota, among other venues.

His tennis staff, either USTA or PTR certified, have all been tournament players and have years of coaching experience.

Adult tennis clinic run each morning at 11am. Junior clinics are available on the weekend from 9am-12pm. During the holidays the resort offers junior clinics each day at 2pm. Tennis clinics run for 90 minutes each and include one instructor for every four pupils.

We are also offering the resort’s top tennis programme the “Aces programme”. This offers a daily 90 minute clinic and also a daily 1 hour round-robin event or supervised play session. Benefits include a 15% discount at the pro shop and a 10% discount at the spa. There is also a welcome drink and a free gift.
