ACCOMMODATION AND VENUE

We are offering two hotels, the four-star La Pirogue and the five-star Sugar Beach hotel. The hotels stand next to each other overlooking one of the Indian Ocean’s finest beaches. The residents of one hotel can use the facilities of the other. La Pirogue is a quiet hotel with a lot of charm. The Sugar Beach has the extra luxury you would expect of a five-star establishment.

THE SUGAR BEACH HOTEL

The Sugar Beach is located on the west coast of Mauritius. With over half a kilometre of sandy beaches stretching along the crystal clear sea, protected by the barrier reef further out, the resort covers 30 acres, featuring beautiful landscaped, tropical gardens with contemporary plantation-style architecture.

There are 258 guest rooms and suites. Real mahogany furniture and magnificent king-size beds harmonise with the soft finishes in tones of pale green and beige. All rooms have their own private patio or balcony complete with easy chair. All rooms are provided with mini-bars, tea and coffee making facilities, LCD flat-screen TV’s with satellite programmes including kids’ channels in English, French, German and Italian. The rooms have air-conditioning, safes, hairdryers and Wi-fi internet access (charged extra). The area of standard rooms is between 80.40m² and 84.40m². The hotel has several restaurants, bars and cafés. There is a beach cart that provides light snacks and refreshments along the beach for guests to enjoy in the privacy of their own thatched parasols.

Sugar beach amenities include a wonderful spa offering a variety of treatments including Shiatsu and Hammam, hairdressing salon for men and women, 300m²  air-conditioned gym with the provision a range of classes, a variety of sports including kayaking, snorkelling, waterskiing, windsurfing, aqua gym, water polo, volley polo, basket polo, aerobics, yoga, frisbee, jogging, mini football, table tennis, volleyball and, of course, tennis. There are six floodlit tennis courts.

The main pool is 2000m². There is another quieter pool called South Pool. There is also a separate specially designed kids’ area.

The hotel has a medical room with a qualified nurse in attendance. There is a kids club which is free for children from 2 – 11 years.  It is open 12 hours a day and offers daily fun programmes with age-appropriate activities. There is also a baby-sitting service. The hotel offers a variety of entertainment for all its guests.

LA PIROGUE

This is the most authentic and Mauritian of resorts with a romantic, tropical atmosphere and a warm-hearted staff, ever attentive to guests’ needs. The resort is spread out over a vast and luxuriant tropical garden along one of the longest and finest beaches in Mauritius. It revels in space and privacy.

There is a cosy feel with accommodation and dining under thatched roofs.

The standard rooms are (25m²)  are set in cottages grouped in small villages.  Each cottage has one superior and two standard rooms. Each room has a furnished private terrace from which to savour the most beautiful sunsets.

La Pirogue has an exceptional natural environment which makes it a paradise for outdoor activities. There is a superb, new “infinity” pool that stretches out towards the Indian Ocean.There is a Kids and Teens Club which help to provide an unforgettable experience for the younger ones.
