TENNIS PROGRAMME

The tennis programme will be headed by Jan Metelka.

He speaks fluent English, having studied and taught tennis in London for several years. Jan obtained a degree in Civil Engineering at London Metropolitan University. He represented the university at tennis in what is the best university team in the UK. When Jan is not coaching, he takes part in international tournaments on the professional tennis tour with a view to achieving as high a world ranking as possible.

He is a fully qualified tennis coach with considerable knowledge and, in particular, a high level of energy and enthusiasm.

We have 8 clay courts at our disposal. The tennis club is called Slavia Prague. It is beautifully situated. It has 4 first-class clay courts and an indoor court (the availability of which will depend on existing bookings). The club-house needs some work but it has ample facilities and a charming restaurant. The other 4 courts are adjacent and belong to another club but are also available for our use if necessary.

Should Jan not be available for some of our courses, we will draw upon a team of coaches of at least a similar level of experience.
