Summer Camp
The
tennis camp runs for 8 weeks in July and August. The first
7 weeks are for all ages and the last week for adults only.
It is both a residential and non-residential camp.
Easter Camp
There
is also an intensive programme of tennis coaching which runs
for 1 week during the Easter period. It is a non-residential
tennis camp but we can recommend good and inexpensive accommodation
for those who require it.
Instructors
Specially
trained instructors will include internationals, tournament
players and coaches of outstanding ability and also a number
of Oxford "blues". Important attributes of the coaches, over
and above a simple knowledge of tennis, are a sense of
fun and an ability to connect with people of all ages and standards.

Participants
The Camp caters
for players of all ages, welcoming adults as well as children.
Please note, however, that unaccompanied children residing in
College should normally be at least 10 years of age. There is
no lower age limit for non-residential participants. The Camp
is designed for people of all playing standards from beginners
to the most advanced. To ensure maximum progress and compatibility,
participants will be divided into groups according to approximate
standard and age.
Special
Adult Week and Adults generally
Flee the stresses of adult life with an immersion in tennis in idyllic surroundings. All weeks are open to all ages including adults but in the last week of the camp (week 8) there is a special programme for adults who prefer to be part of a substantial adult group with separate coaching, evening meals and activities. Adults who attend the camp in the other weeks (weeks1 – 7) and are also coached in separate groups. However, in these earlier weeks the number of adult participants is a lot less and will vary from week to week. For a more specific estimate of adult numbers in any week, it is advisable to check with us before booking. Instruction
More
than five hours of intensive tennis will be available each day
from Monday to Saturday.
Facilities
30
grass and hard courts will be available for use. Participants
will experience the joy of playing on luscious grass courts.
The principal location will be the beautiful grounds of Christ
Church, one of the most famous colleges of Oxford University.
Other excellent venues in the heart of Oxford will be used from
time to time if required.
Supervision
Younger
participants will be supervised at all times. They will not be
allowed out into town on their own unless we have written parental
approval. We like to have a relaxed atmosphere but safety and
security are paramount.
Non-Tennis
Activities
Excursions and social events for all participants will take place. There is a programme of activities for every evening, such as football, volleyball, softball, baseball, punting in the river, theatre, video films and barbecues. Some activities may carry a small, extra charge. Free internet access will be available.

English Lessons
Some
of our overseas visitors may wish to participate in our English
conversation class which takes place for an hour each day after
tennis at the end of the afternoon (Monday - Friday). There is
also a more intensive option of English for 3 hours each afternoon
in place of tennis (Monday - Friday). However, it is should be
noted that English will be spoken throughout the day. The Camp
is English-speaking. Unlike English language schools, the Camp
has many British participants as well as a number of different
nationalities. English will necessarily be the common language.

are pleased to have entered into an agreement with Elmer Cotton
